Filippo Loreti Eterno Automatic Green Diver

 In the early ’50s, a prestigious watch company Universal Genève enlisted an unknown 23-year-old designer named Gerald Genta to design a watch in honor of the newly opened « polar route » operated by Scandinavian Airlines Systems. The route opened up a quicker way between Los Angeles and Copenhagen, flying over the magnetic North Pole (which cut down total flight time by as much as 14 hours!).

This watch was named the Polerouter. Though only a couple hundred of these are believed to have been produced initially, the model would go on to enjoy a successful multiple-decade production runs in the years to follow.

This classic masterpiece over time became a legend and by now is a timeless staple piece in the collections of truly eclectic watch connoisseurs.

To commemorate the brilliant swiss designer Gérald Genta and his influential early work that is the Polerouter, we designed a timeless vintage automatic collection – Eterno Automatic. Eterno is our homage to the simple yet incredibly powerful vintage aesthetic of the Polerouter.
